8 tips for smooth traveling on planes and airports! (and some extra tricks)

25 October, 2019 No Comments
airport

For holidays, one of the main parts is the transfer, especially if you are traveling by plane. But many times going through airports can be a heavy task. That’s why we give you some tips and ideas so that when you come to Cabo you have a pleasant experience during your visit to the airport and your flight.

1 Stay hydrated

Bring an empty water bottle (so they can get through the gates with no problems) in your purse or carry-on luggage. Most airports have water fountains or you can ask for water on the plane. Dehydration is one of the reasons people feel terrible during and after long haul flights. When you’re flying, the humidity is just 10 to 20% inside the plane.

2 Bring plenty of snacks

Food and snacks at airports and on planes are really overpriced, so bring your own and enjoy them during your travel. But airports and airplanes are full of germs, so pack a travel-sized hand sanitizer wherever you go.

3 Dress appropriately

Choose a comfortable outfit and dress in layers to stay comfortable while at the airport and on your flight. Airports and airplanes can either be extremely cold or extremely hot and usually, there’s no happy in-between so wearing layers will help. And always wear socks! Remember that some airports make you take your shoes off when going through security, and these will help for keeping your feet warm on your flight. If you wear glasses, don’t use contacts: flying makes your skin and eyes extremely dry, so wearing contacts may be uncomfortable.

4 Be prepared to be quick

Pack your passport and boarding pass in the same place where you can take them out easily. Going through security and passport control requires us to constantly take out our passport and boarding pass, showing it to the airport staff, then repacking it into our bags. Also, you will have to take your laptop or any other large electronics out of your bag when going through security. To avoid having to dig through your bag while waiting in line, make sure to pack your laptop or any other electronics in a side pocket of your luggage with easy access.

5 Be sure that you will enjoy the flight

Bring a travel pillow and earplugs, so you can be comfortable at all times on the plane and airport. Earplugs will let you sleep through anything like cabin announcements, noisy passengers, crying babies, etc. They’re also much more comfortable than trying to sleep with earbuds or headphones on. Having a great travel pillow can help you be more comfortable and get some rest.

6 Keep an eye on your luggage

A very useful tip is to put a colorful ribbon on your luggage or something that can make it different from others, so you can find it in the sea of similar luggage on the conveyor belt. Also, take a photo of your bags before the flight. On the off chance that your checked luggage gets lost, having a photo of it in addition to your luggage receipt can make it much easier to locate.

7 Stay connected

Bring a portable charger for your electronic devices, not all airports have convenient outlets or charging stations while you’re waiting at the gate. Don’t forget to pack all your wires.

8 Don’t make lines

Check-in for your flight in advance. Be sure to check-in for your flight online 24 hours in advance so you don’t have to wait in line once you get to the airport. This can also be a great way to grab a good seat assignment if you weren’t able to select your seat when you booked your ticket.

Extra tips!

Research for hotels or sleep spots in case your flight is delayed or wheater conditions makes you stay longer than planned. Also, always ask for an upgrade, the worst thing that can happen is that the airline staff simply say “no”. You never know, you might just get lucky and be sitting business class!

But the most important thing, so you can really enjoy your trip, is to plan ahead your transportation for when you land. Don’t get into any complications and let us make your trip an Easy Trip!

How to pay?

There are different ways to make your payment. You can choose between paying in advance, or you also can pay on arrival.

If you want to have everything ready before your trip, and when you got here, not to worry about anything else, paying in advance is the best option for you. If you make your reservation through the webpage, you will find the option to pay with your debit or credit card, or PayPal. Your payment will be protected and safe.

If you decide to pay at your arrival, you can do it either with cash or card directly to the driver. He will have the credit card machine to make the charge directly.

How do I find my driver when I arrive at the airport?

Once you claim your luggage and pass through immigration, don’t stop (beware of the timeshare sellers), go until you are outside the airport where your driver will be waiting for you under the big umbrella marked with the number 5. He will have a sign with your name on it.

The driver will offer you water and cold beers so you can start your vacations as soon as you land!

In Easy Trip Cabo we want your experience to be wonderful from the beginning to the end, from when you land until you take off. We ensure that our service is completely safe, comfortable for all our customers and that you will be on time to your destination.

All that you want to know about SJD Cabo Airport

3 July, 2019 No Comments
Aeropuerto internacional de San José del Cabo SJD

SJD Airport is located less than 7 miles from San José del Cabo, serving the whole Cabo area, composed of San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas municipalities.

It is the 5th busiest in Mexico. The architect of Los Cabos International Airport’s 1997 renovation and expansion was a Mexican architect and great-grandson of Queen Isabella II of Spain, Manuel De Santiago-de Borbón González Bravo. He was a member of ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites), and his lifetime architectural legacy to Mexico adds to 11,000,000 square meters (120,000,000 sq ft) built nationwide, including famous buildings and national sites, as well as important national restorations like the Mexican Houses of Congress Palace “San Lazaro”.

From the moment you land, you will feel the peace and tranquility before being amazed by the majesty of the southern tip of the Baja peninsula.

There are over two dozen airlines that fly regularly into SJD Los Cabos Airport, and you can consult them here.

The International Airport of Los Cabos has incredible facilities, a lot of places to eat to fulfill the taste of every traveler, recognized brands and a wide offer of stores, banks, wireless internet, of course, VIP lounges and friendly service in all the place.

The airport has two terminals with 4 rooms. Terminal 1 serves all domestic operations and some international flights, while Terminal 2 works for international operations only. (Terminal 3 is currently under construction and will also work for international flights.)

There is medical service on duty 24/7, with specialized staff. Room for emergency and ambulance type One for emergency transfers.

During the inbound flights, you will receive and need to fill out a customs form (Hacienda). After passing through immigration, you collect your bags and proceed to the exit. You will hand the form to the customs agent and press the button on what looks like a traffic light.

Passengers leaving items on airplanes should contact the airline directly. If items were left in the terminal area or passenger security screening areas, you should contact the airport authority. You must be able to describe the item, when it was lost, the color of the item, or any information identifying the item, to ensure it is reunited with its rightful owner.

There are 2 money exchange offices located in Terminal T-1 and Terminal T-2 as well as an ATM in each terminal T1 & T2.

Many do not realize there are two airports in the Los Cabos region: SJD Airport (San Jose del Cabo International Airport) and, CSL Airport (Cabo San Lucas Airport). The Cabo San Lucas airport code is CSL.

Cabo Airport private ground transportation, like Easy Trip Cabo, provides more options for your traveling convenience. You’ll have a private vehicle and a bilingual driver ready to meet you at the exit. All are luxury vehicles, insured and meet US security standards.  Private Transportation will have a sign with your name and will be waiting for you. Once connected with your driver you’ll be escorted to the vehicle you previously booked and be taken to your destination. Many include free beer and drinks (we do). If you booked a round trip you are most likely to be picked up at your Hotel three hours in advance of your actual departure flight time.

All of these services are commonly pre-arranged from home, meaning that when you arrive you’ll be greeted by a representative of the company you hired holding a sign with your name and they’ll have a driver ready for you, this is most convenient for travelers who want to get to their destination in both timely and luxury.
